Yarra Gospel Inc

Yarra Gospel is a community choir that loves singing well known gospel songs and modern arrangements of the old spirituals. We practice on Thursdays at Auburn Baptist Church, Burwood Road Hawthorn.The cost is $9.50 per session ($6.50 concession) and the first night is free.

Yvonne Giltinan commenced Yarra Gospel in 2004. The choir has continued to grow and each week over 50 singers come from all parts of Melbourne to sing together. People can join Yarra Gospel at any time of the year because all singers are encouraged, including those lacking in confidence or those who haven't sung in a choir for a long time. There is NO audition!

The rehearsals begin at 7.15 and are led by the musical team of Yvonne, Janine Anderson and Jeremy Bennett, our vocal coaches and Rhianna Kerr, our pianist. We finish our rehearsals at 9.15 and then enjoy a wine and cheese supper together which is a great hit! Newcomers tell us they feel very welcome.
