We are a non-auditioned community choir who enjoy making music and seek to develop our voices, enabling us to perform for the community at a high standard. We present a number of concerts each year, an Annual Concert at Upwey and a Christmas Concert at Mooroolbark are events around which we schedule other performances - Citizenship Ceremonies, the Montsalvat Choral Festival, and combining with other local choirs and orchestras in works such as Handel's "Messiah" and Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana". At Christmas time we visit a number of venues bringing musical Christmas Cheer!
The choir is based in Kilsyth, with members coming from a wide area: the outer-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, the Dandenong Ranges, and the Yarra and Warburton Ranges. We now have 2 choirs, the Daytime Ensemble rehearses on Tuesday mornings and has a popular and musicals based repertoire. The Evening Ensemble rehearses on Wednesday evenings and covers a wide range of repertoire from contemporary, folk, musicals, classical and opera.
New Members are very Welcome!
