Choir Director / Conductor: Kingsgrove/Bexley North NSW The Sing Your Heart Out (SYHO) Choir is an enthusiastic community choir with mixed singing abilities, numbering between 15 and 20 members who attend regularly. We are mainly seniors (over 55) and include both male and female members. We are willing to give anything a try and our repertoire is eclectic. We enjoy a challenge and are capable of simple harmonies. We have been in existence since 2016 and have performed for Bayside Council at the Seniors Festival and the annual Seniors Singalong. We also sing at a local nursing home/aged care village at Christmas time. We have also sung at the Bayside Spring Fair and Citizenship ceremonies. In 2024, along with other choirs, we sang at two charity events to raise money for Médecins Sans Frontieres. We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, capability and experience in conducting choirs. The choir rehearses Thursday mornings at a Hall in Bexley North from 10:00-11:30am during school terms throughout the year. We can pay $170 per session ($1700 per 10-week term) Do you have:

We’re Looking for a Choir Accompanist! Do you love making music with others? The Thomas Cantley Singers are looking for a talented accompanist to join their team! We rehearse at Wolloongabba, Thursday nights from 6.15-8.15 pm during school terms, with some additional rehearsals, workshops and performances along the way. This role supports the Conductor and team in fostering a fun, positive and inclusive environment, and contributing to the artistic and personal development of our members. Upbeat Arts provides group-based recovery programs tailored for long-term clients of Queensland Mental Health services, focusing on enhancing confidence, self-esteem, communication, and life skills. Our arts programs foster social connections, positive mental health, and overall well-being. Singing in an Upbeat Arts choir offers our members a supportive and enjoyable environment to connect with like-minded individuals. As a non-government, non-profit organisation and accredited organisation, we are dedicated to transforming lives through the arts. Since launching our inaugural choir in Brisbane in 2014, followed by a second in North Brisbane in 2022, and most recently a third on the Sunshine Coast in June 2024, we continue to expand our impact. Additionally, we conduct two creative writing workshops each week. OUR MISSION To improve health outcomes through creative arts programs. We walk alongside our members as they build social connections and grow their life skills. YOUR ROLE As an Upbeat Arts Accompanist, you will bring your musical skills to the team, and you’ll be collaborating closely with our Conductor. Upbeat Arts manages the operational aspects of the choir, including member and volunteer recruitment, communication, record-keeping, and all other logistical needs essential for sustaining a choir. No two rehearsals will be the same, as you work with our team and our dedicated choir members and volunteer buddies. PAYMENT For each weekly session delivered (as above), we pay you for 3 hours. This consists of 2 hours contact time (rehearsal) plus 1 hour non-contact time (preparation). ![]() MUSICAL DIRECTOR - VOLUNTEER ROLE - AMAZING COMMUNITY CHOIR - JOYOUS AND FUN! Bundanoon Sings! welcomes individuals of all ages and backgrounds, regardless of musical experience. The choir provides a space for all skill levels to come together in a fun, supportive environment that fosters community, friendship, and a shared love of music, elevating our collective experience. We believe that everyone has a voice worth sharing, and together we can create harmonies that resonate beyond the stage. We are seeking community-minded, Musical Director. This is a volunteer role. The choir is a sub-committee of the Bundanoon Community Association and is supported by an active committee for the smooth functioning of the choir and to lighten the load for this crucial role. There is the possibility of an Assistant Musical Director. The choir has two concerts a year, generally in July and December, all concerts sell out, with our most recent 2024 Carols by Fairylights concert selling out in just 10 days. We sing a wide variety of music appealing to young and old, novice and expert alike as can be seen by our music register. We are keen to keep expanding this variety and continue to include different languages, genres and origins (keeping an eye on the cost of music).
