    We are seeking new members

    Oriana is looking to expand in 2023!  We are looking for new members of all ages to join with us in continuing performing choral music on the Sunshine Coast and beyond.

    This is a rare opportunity to become part of this amazing organisation.  You will not only get to perform some of the great musical works, but also to become part of the Oriana "family" making new and lasting friendships with like minded people.

    The Blackstone-Ipswich Cambrian Choir (BICC) was founded in 1886 and is reputed to be Queensland's longest continuously-performing choir.

    The Senior Choir (adult) is seeking an accompanist due to the retirement of our current accompanist.
    Rehearsals are Monday evening, from 7.30pm to 9.45pm, with some additional rehearsals approaching performances.

    The Senior Choir does 4 main performances through the year:
    • Qld Eisteddfod over the Easter weekend
    • June concert
    • Theatre restaurant over three weekends Aug & Sep
    • November concert
    There are also other ad-hoc performances throughout the year at various community events and annual Christmas carolling gigs.

    Seeking a Musical Director
    Rhythms of the Reef, is seeking a Musical Director to lead our Chorus in 2023. Affectionately known as Rhythms, we are an incorporated, not-for-profit, community chorus of women, who ‘love to sing’, especially a cappella in part harmony. Our membership is open to women of all ages and levels of musical experience.
    Established and performing for over 20 years, the chorus has a diverse repertoire to entertain any audience. We sing at community events, including Citizenship Ceremonies, for local community organisations, as well as Christmas functions. We perform for residents of Lifestyle Villages and Aged Care facilities. The Chorus has attended the Maryborough Eisteddfod and achieved first places across a variety of categories.
    Applications are now open for our next enthusiastic, experienced or emerging leader, a person to encourage us to continually improve, help us provide excellent entertainment for audiences, and join us in experiencing the joy of singing at our best.

    St Peters Church Choir, Indooroopilly offers Choral Bursaries of $1000 p.a. for singers aged from teens to 25 years.

    Bursary holders attend weekly rehearsals with music industry professionals, conductor Tricia Elgar and accompanist Gregory Mayer. They participate in monthly choral services at the SPLC Chapel, Indooropilly, with extra choral services at Christmas and Easter.

    The Berrima Singers
    The NSW Southern Highlands region (located an easy 90-minute drive from Sydney) boasts a high concentration of residents with a strong background and interest in the arts. A significant contributor to this burgeoning local arts scene for more than 50 years is the Berrima Singers. Based in Bowral, the Berrima Singers presents up to four concerts each year across the region. The group is equally at home performing sacred works as well as secular, a Capella and accompanied works from the Renaissance to more recent commissioned Australian works.
    Seeking a Director of Music
    Following the recent retirement of their long-standing Director of Music, the Berrima Singers is seeking to appoint an experienced Musical Director. The new Musical Director will bring the right combination of vision and experience, which will enable the group to maintain its current high reputation in the Southern Highlands.
    The role of Director of Music of the Berrima Singers will include:
    • Directing weekly rehearsals (remuneration to be discussed)
    • Developing the vocal capabilities of the choir through an understanding of correct vocal technique and challenging repertoire choices
    • Seeking performance opportunities and devising appropriate concert programs
    • Encouraging local partnerships for artistic collaboration and community service

    A few details:
    • Currently the group of 34 choristers and accompanist meet weekly at St Jude’s Anglican Church in Bowral for a 90-minute rehearsal. (This can be increased as required).
    • Whilst much of the print music material currently used by the choir is drawn from the public domain, the Berrima Singers also maintains an extensive library of choral works and anthologies.
    • The day-to-day management of the (incorporated) Berrima Singers is by an annually elected Committee of 7 members which includes the Director of Music in the role of Vice President
    • As an unfunded community choir, choristers contribute an annual membership fee to offset ongoing expenses.

    River City Voices Parramatta Auditions for 2023
    River City Voices is Parramatta's flagship auditioned symphonic choir.

    Our choristers perform a wide range of music from classical to contemporary.
    Highlights from this year include: amazing Brahms choral works with the Willoughby Symphony; the World Premieres of specially commissioned choral works from local Indigenous composers; the release of a new album of newly arranged songs and Live performance as part of a unique collaboration with neurodiverse muscians from Club Weld; the Messiah at the Sydney Opera House alongside sydney Philharmonia,  and our own totally new presentation at Riverside Theatres - Slam Messsiah - featuring local slam poets, plus presenting a unique performance as part of the Sydney Opera House's 50th birthday celebrations.
    And 2023 will be no less varied and exciting!!!

    The Launceston Male Voice Choir, a community choir based at Launceston in Tasmania is looking to appoint a suitable Musical Director/Conductor to commence in 2023.
    The Choir
    Established over 80 years ago, the choir has a membership of 20 singers that practice Tuesday afternoons at Glenara Lakes retirement village at Youngtown, from 2 to 3.45
    The Choir has a varied repertoire of music from folk, musical theatre, contemporary, spirituals, jazz, country & western, and classics. A piano is accompaniment for practice, plus for concert performances access to modern audio equipment. Purchases are made of regular music which is held in an extensive library.

    Musical Director/ Conductor
    Our present MD is retiring at the end of 2022, thus creating a vacancy in the choir’s lead musical team. The successful applicant will possess suitable musical attributes, including:

    • effectively teaching TTB parts and developing of members general musical capabilities
    • recommending suitable and varied repertoires
    • accompanying the choir when required at rehearsals and at concerts
    • contributing to committee meetings in planning concert programs
    Remuneration is by honorarium negotiated with the successful candidate. The successful candidate would be able to work with the existing MD in a transition period.

    We are a small friendly female vocal group performing classical a Capella pieces as well as contemporary classical barbershop-style pieces.

    Founded in Dec 2021, we are new and fresh and looking for more singers to complete our ensemble.

    We aim to perform at intimate venues for private and community events. Our first performances will be as part of the Anywhere Festival in May 2022.
