LANE COVE CHORISTERS – Moving Forward in 2026!
Lane Cove Choristers have been bringing music and singing to the local community for nearly 30 years. They have been a small group of up to 15 members, all senior ladies. Now things are changing!
2025 was a good year – we did 17 concerts, most of those with our special programs for Aged-Care facilities, where we love to bring joy to struggling and isolated older residents.
Everything changed for us at the end of the year, when our wonderful conductor, Svetlana Podzorova announced her retirement from conducting – after 19 years of much appreciated service. A big THANK YOU to Svetlana!
It will be hard, but we want to move on – we are looking for a new conductor and new members! We are even breaking new ground in dropping our previous restrictions on age and gender. We’d love to have men join us, as well as younger people. Our rehearsals are held weekly in the daytime, at the very convenient Gallery Lane Cove (easy parking and close-by cafes for a coffee after rehearsal together!) All our concerts are scheduled for the same weekday, throughout the year, so busy people can organise their calendars.
Please get in touch if you are a conductor, or a prospective new member.
All Enquiries: President, Bev Young 0419 680 910, youngbevg@gmail.com
The picture is at the Canopy, Live Music Zone doing our last public concert in 2025. The Mayor of Lane Cove, Clr. Merri Southwood, opened our concert.
