    Due to retirement, we are seeking a relaxed, fun and community minded MD volunteer to guide us weekly in song!

    We are a not for profit, non-audition all abilities choir who have been singing many years and enjoy a handful of performances a year within the local and surrounding community areas.

    We have an extensive and wide range of music for the MD to instantly tap into and we use backing tracks for performances.

    With full support from the committee and members, the successful MD will ideally have;
    • · Passion for community choirs and an ability to work with singers of a range of abilities, from competent to beginners.
    • · Sound musical experience (competent pianist, ability to read, interpret and arrange music)
    • · An inclusive and open leadership style, with a commitment to having a positive relationship with all members of the Choir.
    • · A desire to work with the committee to develop and implement a long-term plan for the choir.
    • · Previous experience as a choir leader is preferred.

    We follow the Victorian school terms and rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7 pm – 9 pm (with a 15-minute supper break at 8 pm) in Laverton.  

    This role is on a volunteer basis, a modest travel allowance may apply.

    The position will be effective from term 3, 2023 however, earlier involvement from June with the outgoing MD would be encouraged.

    The North Coastal Children's Community Choir is a non-profit organisation teaching children to sing.

    We are seeking a Choir Assistant/Pianist in a voluntary role for our 3 classes that run on Wednesday afternoons at Quinns Mindarie Community Centre, 2 Quinns Rd Mindarie. 

    Class times:
    Seniors (10 - 16 years old) 3 - 3:45pm
    Juniors (5 - 8 years old) 4 - 4:30pm
    Seniors (9 - 16 years old) 4:45 - 5:30pm

    Basic simple piano knpowledge required, no need for Mozart. Be able to read sheet music.

    Assisting the Choir Director by learning the Senior's two part songs and teaching young children to sing in tune at choir rehearsals.

    Most of the songs will be performed to backing tracks at our concerts.

    The Blackstone-Ipswich Cambrian Choir (BICC) was founded in 1886 and is reputed to be Queensland's longest continuously-performing choir.

    The Senior Choir (adult) is seeking an accompanist due to the retirement of our current accompanist.
    Rehearsals are Monday evening, from 7.30pm to 9.45pm, with some additional rehearsals approaching performances.

    The Senior Choir does 4 main performances through the year:
    • Qld Eisteddfod over the Easter weekend
    • June concert
    • Theatre restaurant over three weekends Aug & Sep
    • November concert
    There are also other ad-hoc performances throughout the year at various community events and annual Christmas carolling gigs.

    Sydney-based chamber choir on the search for dynamic MD

    Bel a cappella is looking for a talented, dynamic and ambitious Musical Director to lead and challenge our a cappella chamber choir, starting in February 2023.  Our choir has a history of exploring a wide range of repertoire including new music and has gained a reputation for performing music not often heard in the choral scene including many Australian and world premieres.  We are a friendly group of people, united by a love of singing and a desire to perform to a very high standard and we are seeking someone with the vision to build upon our foundations while creating an atmosphere of enjoyment and passion for music making.

    The main duty of the Musical Director (MD) is to rehearse and develop the choir to present public concerts of a high artistic standard with the main concert program consisting of three major concert programs per year.  The MD is also an active member of the Bel a cappella management committee.  The choir and its committee support the MD, providing the necessary resources to develop the choir’s musical quality, repertoire and reputation.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    ●      Rehearsing and conducting the choir’s musical activities

    ●      Selecting the repertoire for the choir’s musical activities

    ●      Continuously developing the choir’s sound and musical standards

    Rhythms of the Reef, is seeking a Musical Director to lead our Chorus in 2023. Affectionately known as Rhythms, we are an incorporated, not-for-profit, community chorus of women, who ‘love to sing’, especially a cappella in part harmony. Our membership is open to women of all ages and levels of musical experience.
    Established and performing for over 20 years, the chorus has a diverse repertoire to entertain any audience. We sing at community events, including Citizenship Ceremonies, for local community organisations, as well as Christmas functions. We perform for residents of Lifestyle Villages and Aged Care facilities. The Chorus has attended the Maryborough Eisteddfod and achieved first places across a variety of categories.

    Choir Director, Anglican Church of Surfers Paradise

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Choir Director to provide musical guidance and direction to our choir which is to be established. The Choir Director's responsibilities include the creation of the choir team(s) and training of choir members, design and oversee music curriculum and instructional materials, establish and maintain positive relationships, and to nurture the Christian Spiritual growth of choir members.
    The successful applicant will be creative, assertive, dependable and passionate in the role, a faithful Christian versed in Anglican tradition and methodology, a skilled musician able to read music well, possess good interpersonal and communication skills, work well with the Priest-in-Charge of the Parish, and possess the relevant Working With Children requirements.
    The responsibilities in the role include:
    • Instructing choir members in relevant technique.
    • Deciding on appropriate musical pieces for the choir to perform based on the sermon for the day.
    • Establishing and enforcing a performance dress code in accordance with agreed upon guidelines.
    • Conducting auditions to identify and select suitable choir members.
    • Scheduling choir rehearsals and ensuring that choir members attend rehearsals regularly.

    The Launceston Male Voice Choir, a community choir based at Launceston in Tasmania is looking to appoint a suitable Musical Director/Conductor to commence in 2023.
    The Choir
    Established over 80 years ago, the choir has a membership of 20 singers that practice Tuesday afternoons at Glenara Lakes retirement village at Youngtown, from 2 to 3.45
    The Choir has a varied repertoire of music from folk, musical theatre, contemporary, spirituals, jazz, country & western, and classics.     Serenata Singers, a community SATB choir based at The Gap, Brisbane, is seeking to appoint a new Conductor to commence in 2023.

    About the Choir

    Established over 50 years ago, the non-auditioned choir currently has a membership of 27 choristers and has maintained an active performance programme despite a fall in pre-Covid numbers. Rehearsals are held every Monday evening from 7 to 9pm in the auditorium of The Gap Uniting Church at 1050 Waterworks Road, The Gap.

    The varied choir repertoire is selected from music theatre, contemporary, folk, jazz, spirituals, classics, and country and western music. The choir is well-resourced with an excellent music library and regular new music purchases, a comprehensive collection of online practice tracks as well as a modern keyboard, amplifiers and microphone for performances.

    About the Position

    The current configuration of our lead music team is a Conductor, a Deputy Conductor and an Accompanist. This vacancy has occurred due to the pending retirement of our Conductor at the end of 2022.

    The successful candidate will possess suitable musical leadership attributes, including:
    • effectively teaching SATB parts and developing the general musical capabilities of members
    • imparting healthy vocal habits to members
    • conducting a varied repertoire

    Monash Chorale Inc. is seeking a Musical Director to lead our choir. The position would suit a music graduate wishing to gain experience or an experienced person looking to support community culture.  The choir was formed in 1995 and is supported by an active committee. It is a not-for profit and non-auditioned choir of mostly mature aged singers based in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

    The choir is an SATB choir and the repertoire is varied, comprised of classical and sacred music, plus musicals, pop music and folk.  Traditionally, the choir has performed three major concerts a year.     The principal responsibilities of the Musical Director are to:

    In December 2021, Blackbutt Singers celebrated their 30th Anniversary. Its members include both female and male singers from Blackbutt, Benarkin, Mt Binga, Cooroy, Yarraman, Nanango, Coolabunia, and Kingaroy, Queensland.

    Macquarie Singers Inc. (MUS) is seeking a dynamic and talented, experienced and accomplished Principal Conductor following our current Principal Conductor, Dr Sarah Penicka-Smith’s decision to step down at the end of 2022, having filled the position since 2013. 

    The ideal candidate will possess the ability to teach music to a non-auditioned SATB choir, conduct the choir in diverse repertoire, show prior experience in producing performances of a high standard and the ability to work and communicate with a committee. The candidate will also be able to demonstrate a long-term vision for the choir, leadership skills and a strong commitment to working with a community choir. Macquarie Singers' Principal Conductor is paid per call for rehearsals, concerts and workshops at a very reasonable rate under contract.


    Macquarie Singers, affectionately known as MUS, is an incorporated community choir with registered charity status. We are one of Sydney’s longest continuing choirs, established in 1967 for the staff of Macquarie University in the year it first opened to students. 

    We perform a diverse repertoire, currently with a strong classical focus. Our membership is open to adults of all ages, cultural backgrounds and levels of experience with music.  Weekly rehearsals are held on Monday nights in North Ryde, on Wallumedegal land. Members of our choir come predominantly from Sydney’s North Shore, Willoughby, Ryde, Hornsby and Parramatta areas but many are willing to travel from even further away.

    The choir performs two major concerts per year with instrumental ensemble accompaniment as well as singing at smaller community events for residents of Macquarie Hospital and aged care facilities. We also hold free public singing workshops and a yearly Christmas carol event at the North Ryde RSL Club.
