The North Coastal Children's Community Choir is a non-profit organisation teaching children to sing. We are seeking a Choir Assistant/Pianist in a voluntary role for our 3 classes that run on Wednesday afternoons at Quinns Mindarie Community Centre, 2 Quinns Rd Mindarie. Class times: Seniors (10 - 16 years old) 3 - 3:45pm Juniors (5 - 8 years old) 4 - 4:30pm Seniors (9 - 16 years old) 4:45 - 5:30pm Basic simple piano knpowledge required, no need for Mozart. The Blackstone-Ipswich Cambrian Choir (BICC) was founded in 1886 and is reputed to be Queensland's longest continuously-performing choir. Sydney-based chamber choir on the search for dynamic MD The main duty of the Musical Director (MD) is to rehearse and develop the choir to present public concerts of a high artistic standard with the main concert program consisting of three major concert programs per year. The MD is also an active member of the Bel a cappella management committee. The choir and its committee support the MD, providing the necessary resources to develop the choir’s musical quality, repertoire and reputation. Rhythms of the Reef Chorus Inc. Bundaberg Qld. Seeking a Musical Director Rhythms of the Reef, is seeking a Musical Director to lead our Chorus in 2023. Affectionately known as Rhythms, we are an incorporated, not-for-profit, community chorus of women, who ‘love to sing’, especially a cappella in part harmony. Our membership is open to women of all ages and levels of musical experience. Established and performing for over 20 years, the chorus has a diverse repertoire to entertain any audience. We sing at community events, including Citizenship Ceremonies, for local community organisations, as well as Christmas functions. Serenata Singers, a community SATB choir based at The Gap, Brisbane, is seeking to appoint a new Conductor to commence in 2023. About the Choir Established over 50 years ago, the non-auditioned choir currently has a membership of 27 choristers and has maintained an active performance programme despite a fall in pre-Covid numbers. Rehearsals are held every Monday evening from 7 to 9pm in the auditorium of The Gap Uniting Church at 1050 Waterworks Road, The Gap. The varied choir repertoire is selected from music theatre, contemporary, folk, jazz, spirituals, classics, and country and western music. The choir is well-resourced with an excellent music library and regular new music purchases, a comprehensive collection of online practice tracks as well as a modern keyboard, amplifiers and microphone for performances. Mid-week and weekend performances are generally held bi-monthly at retirement villages and other venues. Monash Chorale Inc. is seeking a Musical Director to lead our choir. The position would suit a music graduate wishing to gain experience or an experienced person looking to support community culture. The choir was formed in 1995 and is supported by an active committee. It is a not-for profit and non-auditioned choir of mostly mature aged singers based in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The choir is an SATB choir and the repertoire is varied, comprised of classical and sacred music, plus musicals, pop music and folk. Macquarie Singers Inc. (MUS) is seeking a dynamic and talented, experienced and accomplished Principal Conductor following our current Principal Conductor, Dr Sarah Penicka-Smith’s decision to step down at the end of 2022, having filled the position since 2013. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to teach music to a non-auditioned SATB choir, conduct the choir in diverse repertoire, show prior experience in producing performances of a high standard and the ability to work and communicate with a committee. The candidate will also be able to demonstrate a long-term vision for the choir, leadership skills and a strong commitment to working with a community choir. Macquarie Singers' Principal Conductor is paid per call for rehearsals, concerts and workshops at a very reasonable rate under contract. ABOUT MACQUARIE SINGERS Macquarie Singers, affectionately known as MUS, is an incorporated community choir with registered charity status. We are one of Sydney’s longest continuing choirs, established in 1967 for the staff of Macquarie University in the year it first opened to students. We perform a diverse repertoire, currently with a strong classical focus. Our membership is open to adults of all ages, cultural backgrounds and levels of experience with music. Weekly rehearsals are held on Monday nights in North Ryde, on Wallumedegal land. Members of our choir come predominantly from Sydney’s North Shore, Willoughby, Ryde, Hornsby and Parramatta areas but many are willing to travel from even further away. The choir performs two major concerts per year with instrumental ensemble accompaniment as well as singing at smaller community events for residents of Macquarie Hospital and aged care facilities.
