Description: Fit for a King !
For their next concert the Corinthian Singers’ Director of Music, Matthew Atherton, has gathered together a programme of elegant, joyous choral and instrumental music that would please any monarch. It features regal music written for such occasions as coronations and birthdays for the Royal Courts of Europe and the United Kingdom.

The programme has If Ye Love Me and Alleluia Ora Pro Nobis by Thomas Tallis, composer for the courts of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. Also included will be John Blow's Let the Hand be strengthened and Henry Purcell’s I was Glad, both written for the coronation of King James II in 1685, and works by John Eccles written for the birthday of Queen Anne in 1703. Also featured in the concert will be Green Groweth the Holly written by King Henry VIII.
French works by Charpentier and Couperin were written for the court of Versailles, are also part of this engaging programme.
Join us, be treated like royalty, and enjoy a concert of charming music fit for a King or Queen.
