JOIN THE UPBEAT ARTS TEAM – BUNDABERG

Upbeat Arts is seeking an exceptional Choir Conductor to lead and inspire our Bundaberg Choir. This role is crucial in shaping the musical direction of this new choir, fostering a positive and inclusive environment, and contributing to the artistic and personal development of our members.

WHO IS UPBEAT ARTS?
Upbeat Arts provides group-based recovery programs tailored for long-term clients of Queensland Mental Health services, focusing on enhancing confidence, self-esteem, communication, and life skills. Our arts programs foster social connections, positive mental health, and overall well-being. Singing in an Upbeat Arts choir offers our members a supportive and enjoyable environment to connect with like-minded individuals.

We’re a non-government, non-clinical organisation committed to changing lives through the arts. We launched our first choir in Brisbane in 2014 and now have choirs in North Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast. We also hold two creative writing workshops each week.

YOUR ROLE
As an Upbeat Arts Conductor, your role will focus on the musical direction of the choirs, collaborating closely with an experienced accompanist. Upbeat Arts manages the operational aspects of the choir, including member and volunteer recruitment, communication, record-keeping, and all other logistical needs essential for sustaining a choir.
No two rehearsals will be the same, as you work with our dedicated choir members and volunteer buddies and teach them about their voice and singing within a choir setting.
Together and when it’s appropriate for a brand new choir, we pursue exciting performance opportunities, which you will help the choir prepare for.

DAYS AND TIMES
  • During the day, during the week – 10:15am to 12:15pm
  • Weekly closely aligned to school terms – 45 per annum
  • The choir will begin in April 2026
  • Performances and events as agreed
  • Venue, day etc is currently being finalised
