The Camberwell Chorale and Camerata Orchestra present
Mozart "Requiem" and
Michael Easton "Unsung Heroes"
Mozart’s final and most profound work, his Requiem, is a powerful and moving choral work renowned for dramatic intensity, stirring sequences, rich harmonies and evocative use of choir and orchestra. Exploring themes of mourning, hope, and redemption, the Mozart Requiem is one of the most enduring and celebrated pieces in classical music.
Michael Easton’s compelling Unsung Heroes is based on the poetry of six famous English poets who served in WWI,
and is a personal reflection of the Composer on the horror of war and its ultimate uselessness. First written in 1990, this work was specifically dedicated by the Composer to Camberwell Chorale and its Musical Director, Douglas Heywood.
